Biography

Josh Young is a former professional basketball player, author, impact developer, and business owner focused on helping individuals and organizations elevate performance through internal mastery. A full-ride scholarship athlete at Drake University, he graduated as the program’s all-time leading scorer and earned a degree in business management and marketing, including an NCAA Tournament appearance. Young went on to a 12-year professional career after being drafted into the NBA G League by the San Antonio Spurs, competing across Europe. In 2021, he founded Competition of One, a leadership and performance brand grounded in sustainable excellence. A sought-after keynote speaker, he has delivered impactful messages for organizations including NASA and Volkswagen Group of America. Young currently serves as Vice President of Student Development at Southwestern Christian University, leading culture, leadership development, and strategic initiatives.
